Ajitama Tonkotsu of Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen

I used to think that if you’ve tried one ramen, you’ve tried them all, and that basically they didn’t taste much different from those instant ones you can purchase at the grocery store. I never really understood the ramen craze, never really contemplated ramen beyond my tried-and-tested Nissin.

Until this one.

My cousins brought me to Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen at Shangri-La Mall on a treat (I'll always be glad that they introduced me to the place), and fortunately I picked this variant from the menu. After the first spoonful, the first word out of my mouth was “Wow.”

The pork broth is, simply put, DELICIOUS. It’s arguably the most flavorful broth I have ever tasted thus far; salty and milky and just so savory. It took me several spoonfuls to remember that there were other things to eat in the bowl, too. :D

The half-boiled egg, marinated in a special sauce, added to the taste (I actually considered getting an extra egg), and the noodles were just right.

Will surely be coming back (more than once!) for this.

Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen has branches at Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Level 5 of the East Wing; Powerplant Mall, P1/Concourse Level; and SM Aura, 2nd Floor.
